You will enter a totally different world to that of the chaotic capital city, Praia, which has all the
disadvantages and none of the advantages of a big city.
The small village of
Cidade Velha, once known as Ribeira Grande ,
the site where the explorers landed, is the only historical site
on Cape Verde and will welcome you with its old-style charm.
How to reach us:
-from Praia airport: take the first cab from the rank just outside the airport. Give the driver our address
and agree the fare (roughly 1500 Escudos or 15 Euros during the day/ 2000 Escudos or 20 Euros at night);
- from Praia: take a cab, give the driver our address and agree the fare (this should be no more than 1000 Escudos or 10 euros).
You will see the restaurant/B&B to the right on the long slope as you enter the village.
